Welland Canal View

The St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre has an outdoor, elevated observation platform located at Welland Canal Lock 3. The ships pass through here so close that you can feel the platform vibrating as they go by. The lock raises and lowers the ships 46 feet (14 meters). This is a fantastic place to get a close-up view of the ships! The museum is also very interesting, covering the history of the Welland Canal and St. Catharines.
