Belle Isle State Park

Detroit River View

The riverfront area adjacent to the Dossin Great Lakes Museum is open whenever the island is open and has a nice view across the river of Windsor, Ontario. They have some interesting outdoor exhibits including the Edmund Fitzgerald's lost anchor. The pilothouse from the William Clay Ford is on the back of the building. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for entry onto the island.

The western tip of Belle Isle offers great views of the ships passing the Windsor, Ontario and Detroit, Michigan skylines, as well as the Ambassador Bridge which connects the two cities. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for entry onto the island.
